Why Tea? : The Tea Phenomenon |
 |
 |
 |
When people think of tea, they use words like "Soothing," "Calm," and
"Healing." They picture ceremony, whether it's a Japanese tea ritual or a
beloved grandmother pouring a soothing cup. For many of us, tea is a more than
a drink. It's an oasis.
Sometimes folk wisdom is many years ahead of scientific research. In the case
of green tea, it was ahead by millennia. Asian cultures have long respected the
healing and rejuvenative properties of tea, but it is only recently that
researchers have begun to confirm what the rest of the world already knew.
Tea is good for you. It heals, rejuvenates, and inspires. It's a simple answer
to many of today's most complex problems. And the mystique of tea is moving out
of Chinese restaurants and your grandmother's kitchen to become part of popular
culture. It's as though the subtle aroma of tea was spreading across — and
calming — our frenetic world.
We call it the Tea Phenomenon.
It's the recognition that nature is more powerful, and more giving, than we had
ever realized. And that, through tea, nature has given us a powerful balm for
our bodies. And our spirits.
