One of the top peer-reviewed medical journals recently published a study
authored by Dr. David Maron from the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It involved 240 patients with mild to
moderate cholesterol problems, and showed that theaflavins-enriched green tea
extract significantly lowered the test subjects' LDL levels, while
simultaneously raising their HDL levels. A comparison group showed no
significant change. The theaflavins group noted no side effects.
Conclusion:
The studied theaflavins-enriched green tea extract is well-tolerated and
effective in lowering LDL-C levels in adults suffering from high cholesterol.
